Published in Hardcover by Garland Publishing (01 June, 2001)
Average review score:

Environmental Policymaking inn CongressThis is a great book if you are interested in how environmental policy is made in Congress. It is a sholarly book that also provides practitioners useful information about their impact on the Great Lakes, wetlands and wildlife. It is the most comprehensive piece of well researched and clearly written literature on environmental policymaking to date. The author is thorough in providing description with the book beginning in 1789-current. Certainly a must read for anyone who is a policymaker, student, scholar or has a serious interest in the environment.

Star Wars: The New Jedi Order: Vector Prime ReviewI loved Vector Prime. It's one the best Star Wars books I've ever read. They fight aliens called the Yuuzhan Vong. The Yuuzhan Vong are fom another galaxy. The only bad thing about it is when Chewie dies. Get this book!

Exploring the Deep Dark Sea
Published in Hardcover by Little Brown & Co (Juv Trd) (April, 1999)
Average review score:

Great Introduction to the Deep OceanI am somewhat familiar with deep ocean exploration and this book does a great job of describing the experience. I like that the text is simple so that a young reader can enjoy it alone but it also has scientific names of deep sea features and creatures for older readers and this makes it a nice resource book as well.
Quite accurate depiction of the seagoing experience.
The terminology is very accurate as are the pictures.
I read this book several times before I gave it as a gift for a young child.

Exploring the Ocean Science Activities for Kids
Published in Library Binding by Bt Bound (March, 2001)
Average review score:

The Best Piece of Science Curriculm For Kids I've Ever FoundThank goodness I found this book before I started teaching a class on Oceanography! "Exploring the Oceans" was not only a clear and well thought out book but it was clearly written by someone who understands children. The book is riddled with fun and educational activities that work exptremely well for kinistetic learners. it was organized into managable chapters that allowed the students to focus on a cohesive set of ideas while previewing the concepts to come. A wonderful tool for getting kids excited about science and the ocean.

Eyelids of Morning: The Mingled Destinies of Crocodiles and Men
Published in Hardcover by Chronicle Books (August, 1990)
Average review score:

Amazingly interesting, even to non-hepterologistThe hardcover version is replete with the most bizarre photos of crocodiles, giant fish, and local tribal culture. A biological effort at determining a croc population veers into a "Heart of Darkness-esque" tome where "civilized man" is on display as mach as the lake denizens being studied. Check out the chapter describing a night on Snake Island and you will find new appreciation for your own safe backyard. This book and its dramatic photos always remind me of the power of nature and the many paths of survival

Faith: Stories from the Collection More News from Lake Wobegon
Published in Audio Cassette by HighBridge Company (October, 1991)
Average review score:

four more great stories by the best storyteller aliveOn this cassette, Garrison Keillor writes four stories that range from the absurd "Pontoon Boat", to the poignant "O death", to the delightfully real "Smokes" to the irreverent "Let Us Pray". They are definitely all keepers, and if you have the appreciation for Keillor's unquestioned genius, then you will enjoy these stories as much as I do.

Fall Stories from the Collection: News from Lake Wobegon/Audio Cassette
Published in Audio Cassette by HighBridge Company (January, 1991)
Average review score:

The Best of the Best of Garrison Keillor"Fall" contains the single funniest Lake Wobegon monolgue yet written: "Bruno the Fishing Dog." It also contains a typically Minnesotan Thanksgiving recap ("Hors duerves at the Tollefson's, can you believe it?"), and a devastating 24-minute epic, "The Royal Family," that has nothing to do with the Windsors.
Owning this collection (and "Gospel Birds") is a must for fans, and a great starting place for newbies.
